KMC T-Shirt Supports High River

Description: In neighbourhoods like the hard-hit Hampton Hills, many houses cleaned and cleared for habitation back in 2013 are now boarded up and slated for demolition, while hundreds of disaster recovery claims from area residents remain unresolved.

Still, the latest round of work crews, trucks and barricades disrupting drivers and pedestrians in the town centre is seen by many as a welcome sign of its rebirth. A downtown infrastructure replacement program, featuring widened sidewalks and curb extensions for pedestrian safety, promises to not only return High River’s core to what it once was, but also make it more beautiful and functional than ever in the area’s more than 100-year history. A deal between the town and Canadian Pacific signed last week will also see nearly 13 new hectares of land in keys part of the town being used to add such amenities as additional parking and green space.
